National Swim League 2017
Arena League Final
Round - 9th December 2017
Tonight Camp Hillians did battle in our first ever Arena League promotion gala!
It was a very cold and frosty evening, but the racing in the pool was very
fiery. Every swimmer did their absolute best, you all did the club very proud.
The competition was tough but we battled bravely to earn ourselves a 5th place
finish, which is absolutely brilliant!
Results were:
1st Ripley Rascals
2nd Daventry Dolphins
3rd Lichfield
4th Bromsgrove
5th Camp Hill
6th Swadlincote
I just want to say how amazing you all are, you always give 100% and it’s such a
joy to be your coach. Thank you and keep working hard for your individual goals,
with Warwickshire County championships and the West Midlands’s Region
championships in the new year.
See you in training and well done again
James

Warwickshire Championships 2017 - day 4
Final day of the championships and it kicked off with the
boys 50m FC. A great turn out from CH, our biggest boys team of the
championships this year. Luke and Tyrese's first race of the champs, great to
watch them swim. Some fab swims from all the boys, with almost all boys swimming
a PB 👍🏼 Next up was the girls 100m Brst. Every girl went out determined and
raced from the start. A special well done to Elizabeth Who smashed her sc PB by
4seconds 😱Boys 200m bc was Dylan and Thomas. Both swimming well with Thomas
storming his final 50m and swimming an 8sec PB! Final race of the morning was
the girls 200m fly! Emily C and Tilly did themselves proud (and didn't moan too
much about racing it 😂). Tilly gained another Midlands QT 👍🏼
Final session of the day and the championships, finished with a bang! Girls 50m
brst saw some great swims and PBs especially from our younger swimmers, Eleanor
and Molly. Clarrie was first reserve for the final! Next up was the girls 200m
FC. Emily equaled her pb but the swim of the event was Sophia, who swam a 7 sec
PB! ⭐️ Finally we got to the final race, boys 100m fly. Jon went out from the
start and did not give up. Won his heat by 7m and another massive pb, 3secs off
his entry time!
A massive thank you to Kevin who accompanied me on poolside today. Also well
done to all swimmers who have competed in the champs, whether it be one race or
10! Your dedication to training and open meets is what has got you here.
Therefore another well done to your parents - they/we couldn't do this without
your dedication either!
Already looking forward to 2018 🙈
Jane 😊

Day 3 of Warwickshire county Championships 2017
Apologies for the late post.
A rather hectic morning with a dozen swimmers, proved fruitful for some. In the
morning session we had some great swims, but a couple that stood out were Jon
Vaskor and Thomas Ribchester in the 50 Back both securing good PBS and Jon
VASKOR making the 15yo final.
In the afternoon session we had some equally impressive swims, Tilly Neal's 50
Fly, a PB, a final and a midland time, for one. But the swims of the afternoon
definitely belong to Clarrie Williams and Sophia Okoosi-Dunn for their big PBS
in the 200IM.
That's not to say that others didn't do well, all our swimmers performed gusty
swims all day and like last weekend was very proud of their professional manner
of racing.
Well done everyone today, and good luck to all those swimming tomorrow, you'll
be fantastic!

** Warwicks 2017 Day 2 **
Another successful day for Camp Hill. The girls kicked off
the morning in style with 50m fc. Smashing her PB, Eleanor Ribchester took off
an amazing 5secs off her entry time. Tilly made the final, coming 6th overall
gaining her first MIDLANDS time 👍🏼 All girls swam fab and many had just
travelled to Coventry for less than 40seconds of racing. So well done parents
too!!
Next up was the Boys 100m brst. Dylan made the final 👍🏼 the girls 200m back
was the toughest event for the girls today, long course is a killer on the
legs!! Both Emily's qualifying for the championships next year 😃 200m Fly next,
and not only does Dylan swim a 2sec PB he also made the 13/u final!!!
The afternoon started well with all boys swimming PBs in the 50m brst. The swim
of the event went to Jamie Evans 👍🏼 Once again Dylan made the final, he was
unstoppable today! Girls swam the 100m fly with all three swimming PBs. Sophia
and Tilly qualified for the final 😃
Final session - the finals! Dylan kicked it off in the 100m brst - BRONZE!
Sophia next up in 100m fly, came 7th and swam faster than the heats. Tilly
gained a BRONZE and anoth MIDLANDS time 👍🏼 Final event of the day and Dylan
swam 200m fly again! Came 7th and still managed to swim faster than his heat!
Very proud of all the swimmers today, you all had the right attitude and were
ready to race. Thank you for a great day

Warwickshire County Championships 2017-Day 1
After a very long day, with some very fast swimming in it,
I am finally home and looking at our swimmers races today, and to say I am happy
with the performances I've seen today is an understatement 👍
Every swimmer swam very gutsy races in a very professional manner, and more
importantly showed respect and fantastic support for each other, keeping
everyone happy on poolside, even entertaining at times 😉
To highlight a few stand out swimmers, for particularly impressive swims. For
the boys I have to choose Dylan Abulencia, for incredible performances in both
his swims this afternoon, and for the girls Lizzie Ribchester for some equally
impressive PBs in the morning and afternoon session.
As a team almost everyone PB'd in at least one race, with only a handful of
races coming up just short.
We had one swimmer make a final today, and waited all afternoon to race and take
part in it, so big well done to Jon Vaskor, for your achievement and for taking
part and performing in the final with the right spirit.
A big well done, and a massive good luck for you all tomorrow with Jane, you
deserve any success you get 🤞
See you in the pool on Tuesday
